Tiling the kitchen is the decision that makes the biggest visual impact in a renovation—and the one that causes the most headaches when done incorrectly. At Tecnic Project we tile kitchens in Palma de Mallorca using modern materials, providing a fixed-price quote in writing and a single point of contact throughout the entire project. With over three generations of experience installing tiles, porcelain, and microcement in Mallorca, we understand how each material performs in the island's humid and hot climate.
Everything needed to deliver the kitchen tiled, sealed and ready for furniture installation.
Homeowners who are only renovating their kitchen and want to update the backsplash or change the flooring without touching the rest of the bathroom or home. Those who have bought an older apartment and inherited tiles from the 70s and 80s that are now worn, chipped, or simply outdated. And owners of vacation homes or second residences who need finishes resistant to heavy use and the salty coastal environment.
If what you need is a complete kitchen renovation in Mallorca, the tiling is included in our fixed package of €3,990 + VAT for labor.
The average price per square meter in Spain ranges from €35 to €75/m², including labor and mid-range materials, with a market average of around €45/m². Labor alone costs between €25 and €40/m² depending on the materials and complexity of the work. For a standard 10m² tiled kitchen, the total cost is around €400 to €1,000, depending on the type of tiles and the complexity of the job.
Three generations of tile laying in Mallorca means we know which materials withstand coastal humidity, which adhesive each piece needs, and how to avoid common problems: tiles that become "marked" over time, joints that get moldy, floors that creak because the substrate wasn't properly prepared.
The fixed labor cost is because we have precise time estimates for each material—we don't improvise. The 1-year warranty on renovations and 2-year warranty on materials is because we stand behind our work: if a piece shifts or a joint gives way, we'll fix it. And we maintain a single point of contact throughout the entire project—you won't have to coordinate multiple trades yourself.
We operate from Carrer d'Isaac Albéniz 17 in Palma and tile kitchens throughout Mallorca.

Below are some frequently asked questions about floor tiling in Palma de Mallorca. We hope you find them helpful.
Yes, in many cases. If you only want to renovate the backsplash between the base and wall cabinets, we can tile while preserving the existing countertop and cabinetry—it takes 2-3 days and is much less disruptive. If the floor or the area behind the cabinets also needs tiling, then we do need to remove the cabinetry, and the work will take 4-6 days. During the site visit, we'll tell you exactly what's feasible in your kitchen and what isn't.
If the tiling is part of a renovation that doesn't affect structural elements, prior notification to the Palma City Council is sufficient. Municipal fees amount to approximately 6.611% of the declared budget (urban planning tax + ICIO). If only the facade is being renovated without affecting installations, many homeowners' associations don't even require notification to the city council, but it's advisable to verify. We handle the necessary paperwork as part of our service.
Matte porcelain stoneware and large-format porcelain are the two most well-rounded options for the island's climate: they withstand humidity, impacts, stains, and intensive cleaning. Microcement looks great but requires regular maintenance (sealing every 4-5 years). Standard ceramic tiles are a good option if budget is a concern, but they deteriorate faster in saline environments. During the visit, we'll make recommendations based on your actual kitchen usage.
